At the Headache Clinic of San Antonio we take a comprehensive approach towards the treatment of your headaches. We evaluate each patient and develop a personal treatment plan based on the patient’s evaluation assessment. We treat all types of headaches, including migraines, cluster headaches, tension headaches, occipital neuralgia, post-traumatic, medication overuse headache and facial pain. We specialize in treatment of adults with headache disorders.

Types of Headaches

Migraine

This is a neurological disease that can cause debilitating symptoms, including headaches. Other symptoms that commonly occur with migraine include the following:

  • Nausea and/or Vomiting
  • Sensitivity to Light and/or Sound and/or smells
  • Avoidance of Activities (Work, School, or Time With Loved Ones)
  • Aura or Sensory Symptoms (Changes in Vision, Tingling, and Numbness)

Cluster

These are headaches which occur in cyclical or cluster periods that may last anywhere between a week to several months and may return every couple of years. Afflicted individuals often experience differing symptoms, but these are the most common:

  • Runny Nose
  • Swelling of the Forehead
  • Pains on One Side of the Head, Commonly Behind One Eye
  • Dilated Pupil, Droopy or Swelling Lid, and Redness of the Affected 

Tension

These headaches are generally diffuse, mild to moderate pain in your head that’s often described as a tight band around your head.  Tension headaches may last anywhere between a week to several months and may return every couple of years. Afflicted individuals often experience a variety symptoms.
